In laptops you have a wide variety of choices out in the market. In getting one for yourself, you should always think about the tasks that you would be doing in a laptop. You should make sure that the features in a laptop that you are buying focuses mostly in your line of work. This is a way for you to achieve higher levels of productivity.

The HP Pavilion DV6t series brings you laptops that can bring out ultimate productivity in your hands. This series from HP comes with many media-geared features. Its highlights are a 16-inch wide screen display, numeric keypad built in to the right side of the keyboard, 320 GB Hard Drive and a fast 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor.

This laptop might seem a little larger than most other laptops and weighs around 6 pounds but this is isn't so bad. You can still carry it around with you with ease. The best thing to look at is the features that would be good for your productivity.

One great thing about the HP DV6t laptop series is that some laptops can be customized. You can choose features that would be most useful in your work. In order for you to determine what features should be put in your laptop you should have a basic idea on four major parts of a computer and how they function.

First you need to get a Processor that will work with the speed that you need for a laptop. Your laptop's processor will process everything you do in it. If you work heavily on graphics you should get a Processor with higher GHz or Giga Hertz capacity. The higher the GHz capacity is the faster and better your laptop is.

The OS or Operating System allows you to install other programs in your laptop. Usually the latest version of OS is highly recommended for those involved in graphics works. If you are a heavy text user and not that much in graphics you can have the older versions of OS.

The Random Access Memory or RAM stores temporarily accessed programs. The more programs you open, the more RAM is used up. When you close a program, the RAM used is refreshed. Graphics programs like Video and Photo Editing software as well as websites rich in graphics like Facebook and Twitter use up more RAM. It is always better to have a bigger RAM if your work will entail accessing these kinds of program to avoid slowing down of your laptop or causing it to hang.

The Hard Drive contains everything you have in your laptop. All your programs installed and files are kept in the hard drive. To put simply if you want to save more files and programs in your laptop you should have a Hard Drive that would have the storage capacity for them. Keep in mind that files created from graphics programs will take up more space than files created from text heavy programs.
